The erratum first, because the fix depends on it. Sheet LIX, section IV:
The keep action, the actual work of standing in a granary
putting food up, never calls turnedOut.
It does. Line 8261, in plain sight: turnedOut(sim, granary, n, 'food', kept).
The claim came from a grep for tally|made|laid — three words the call contains
none of — reported as an absent call, in a sheet partly about instruments reporting on worlds
they were not measuring. The record’s sixth instrument error is in a sheet cataloguing
the first five. The pleasant consequence: LIX’s first prediction was pre-satisfied, the
guard alone is the whole fix, and there is no “third number kept and read by
nobody” — there are still only two, which is two too many but the true count.
The fix. The hunger release in releasedTo now passes the same test the
workshops have had since the sixteen-yards flood: no storehouse re-release
while an unworked granary stands or a commission is unbuilt. A worked shed opens the
category honestly. Livestock stays unguarded on purpose — a flock is ewes, not a bench.
check-release grows eighteen to twenty-two, and the two guard cases fail
against the old code, stash-verified.
The measurement, against LIX’s own predictions, on the same flooding valley:

The fine print, stated rather than hidden. The guard reads every standing shed: the landing, with one worked and one dark, stays shut — the design asking that the existing grant be used before an eleventh allowance, and the place to watch if it proves too tight. And while measuring, an old acquaintance walked through Mara’s memory three times: went to build a sawmill and could not — a saw is a blade. The refusal names itself now, which is the difference; the treadmill it names is older than the record, and is seen, and is not today’s fight.
